KINDNESS WEEK

World Kindness Day is November 13. Students are encouraged to always be kind but during this week, we will be intentional about talking about acts of kindness and challenging students to perform acts of kindness.

To encourage students to continue spreading kindness, we are holding a poster contest. This is an optional activity, and posters are due on 11/8/24. Posters should include a message of kindness or a picture depicting a kind act.

Kindness Week Themes:

  • Monday, 11/11: We Don’t Hide From Kindness. Also, Veterans Day - Camouflage!

  • Tuesday, 11/12: Kindness “Ties” Us Together! - Tie or Bowtie

  • Wednesday, 11/13: Peace, Love, and Kindness - Shirt with a positive message, tie-dye, or blue!

  • Thursday, 11/14: “Work Out Problems with Kindness!” - Workout gear

  • Friday, 11/15: “Share the Spirit of Kindness!” - Octorara gear

Gobble Grams

We are excited for Gobble Grams to start next week! Grams will be on sale in the lobby of each building November 18th-21st before school starts. All grams are $1.00 and can be sent to friends and teachers in grades K-6 only.

If your student would like to send a gram, please follow the steps below:

  • print out the gram, see template below

  • complete the template for each friend

  • bring to the lobby of your school with the amount owed

Grams will include a bag of Herr's chips and a fun note! Grams will be delivered the week of November 25th.

Keeping Warm this Winter

This year we are again fortunate enough to work in partnership with an organization called Driving Out the Cold. They have provided us with new winter coats for children whose families may be going through financial struggle and are in need of support at this time of year. We are reaching out to the families of OPLC students in an effort to reach those children who are in need of a new winter coat to keep warm this winter season. If your child is in need, please fill out their information below and provide a parent signature, allowing us to give a coat to your child if there is one available in their size.
